Progress report!

Good evening readers! Time for a progress report!

Well the family and I are in the process of sorting out our house, in preparations for moving in the near future, but this hasn’t stopped me from writing! All four books have been written now, and the first two are available to buy as prints! However, volume 3 and 4 have yet to be proof read, or are missing the internal artwork. They will not be available for purchase by the deadline as originally planned.
As for the guide? That is finished, but I am now going through the process of cutting out certain parts that one of my proof readers felt was not necessary, and would be better off left to the imaginations of you readers! It will not be available for purchase by the deadline date either. *sigh*
HOWEVER, just because I failed to meet my target this month does not mean they will not be ready in time for ComicCon! The books are scheduled to be available by then, plus much more, but right now I have been riddled with delays from the resulting move plans. I will keep you all posted, but right now I do not know when this Big Move will happen.

Thanks, as always, for being patient!

Tutorials in Progress!

Good day (or night!) to you readers!

As mentioned in previous posts, I have been getting ready for the October Comic Con in London, and as part of my website I have been recording videos and whipping up sketches for how to make a few basic (and some, not so basic) costume components. Obviously all the parts I am working on end up forming a Jinimaru cosplay, but you can use all the techniques shown in them to do other costumes as well. A majority of the parts made for a Jinimaru costume can also be applied to Fursuits, Satyrs, Neko and Na’vi with relative ease. All the parts made in the videos will form my October Cosplay. I hope to start working on the videos once the Jinimaru Folklore books are ready for print, which is scheduled for the end of the month. For the time being, just sit tight and await further news on the tutorials section of the site, it’s going to be great!

Progress Report!

Good day to you, readers! It’s time once again for an update.

As previously mentioned in the last update the Jinimaru Folklore stories are well underway, and all is progressing smoothly towards the deadline for the 1st of July. The guide is also almost ready, so by the end of July the first whole series will be available for physical printing. EPUB versions will come out sometime at the end of the year.
Next on the agenda is the website. I have made some artwork for it, and have begun tidying up the pages as well as started adding new ones like a tutorials page (which are under construction).
Okay, now onto the big thing; Comic-Con.
I have been working on the books as well as other arts and crafts for many years now, only ever selling one or two items at a time because I didn’t feel ready to put it out there, but that is changing. This October, I will be attending Comic-Con as not just a regular con-goer, but also as a seller in Artists Alley. As of this moment I have a brief list of what will be available, what day I hope to attend as a seller, and very rough pricing.

 Jinimaru Folklore (Each)Jinimaru GuidePrints (286 x 439 mm)Jinimaru Cosplay Tails (Each)Convention Commission
Price at the Convention£3.99£6.99£9.99£5 to £10£5 to £10
Price Elsewhere£4.50£8.99£12.99N/A (Con exclusive)Commission prices vary

I intend on having a stall on the Friday or Saturday, as my family and I have a long drive back home on Sunday evening and we want to beat the traffic. I will be in cosplay throughout the entire convention as a character from one of the books, but right now I have nothing to even tease which it will be. It is a Jinimaru character though.

I look forward to the release of the series, and attending Comic-Con at the end of the year! To those already attending the May London Comic-Con, I hope to see you in October!

Jinimaru Folklore has begun!

Quote

Greetings readers! I have some great news!

As you may have noticed, I recently added a countdown widget to the sidebar of the website, which is currently counting down to Subject 218’s first two volumes. Well, that’s just the start of the good news; Jinimaru Folklore Volume 1 is finished and is now available for print. However, I would advise waiting a little bit longer before grabbing a copy, as I am not far off finishing A Beginners Guide to Jinimaru and I am currently looking into ways for you lovely folks to grab the first Folklore story when you get the Guide for a discounted price. Of course I can’t promise this, it’s just what I want to be able to do.
Volume 2 of the Folklore stories is finished but is missing its artwork. I will be placing it up for print shortly after the Guide is finished, that I am certain of. The Guide is missing 10 of the 16 Jinimaru breed drawings, two anatomy sketches, plus a whole bunch of old artwork from 1999 that I finally found after months of frantic digging around in my old school textbooks (yes, I still have them!)

I am still working on redesigning the website. Remember; all current Headers are temporary. I am making unique artwork for the site that won’t be used in my books or anywhere else! I was going to prioritise the site graphics over the Guide, but I can’t bring myself to do that. Both will be getting worked on at the same time!

Thanks for being so patient, I really hope you enjoy the books. They’ve been a tough labour of love for me, and now I can finally share them with the world. I’ve hit a lot of bumps along the way, and done a lot of things I wasn’t happy doing, but to get a physical copy of one of my childhood dreams in my hands? That’s just something I have always wanted to do. So go out there, reader; chase your dreams. It might be difficult, but if you want that dream bad enough, you’ll pull through.

New Server!

Quote

Hey again! Well, I migrated the website to a new server, and all is smooth so far. I am going to be completely overhauling the look and feel of the site over the next few months, but for now everything is functioning as intended.

You can now purchase physical copies of the Subject 218 books, the EPUB versions will be a little longer, as they need to get approval from LuLu before distribution.

Thanks for being patient!

First Published Books, and More!

Quote

Greetings viewers (and soon to be readers, I hope!)

First and foremost, I want to thank you for your patience; it’s been a rough few years, both in writing and in my daily life, but progress is finally starting to show.
The website is still hosted on an inferior server, but this is temporary and I am still looking for a better alternative. In the meantime, please expect a reduction in images on display, and files for download.
Now, onto the crux of the topic; the first books!

If you’re a regular on the site, you may have noticed some significant changes to the Novel pages…let me explain these first before talking about the actual books themselves.

  • Novel pages that have more than one volume in the subject, are now listed in chronological order.
  • Chapter previews have been replaced by Reading Requirements and Recommendations; this is to help make your reading easier, or to prepare you for how the book is written.
  • Story briefs are written under their chronology, unless they are one single story, in which they do not have a chronology section and just have a story brief.
  • The year the book was released, or is scheduled for release, is now found by their title. If there is no scheduled release date, a TBC (To be Confirmed) will be there instead.
  • All images have been removed from the pages, as have the character biographies; many of these contained spoilers, or I am in the process of redrawing them all. They will return eventually.

Okay! Now the publishing side…as previously stated on The Tale of Tim page (formerly HUNT DOWN) it was due to be the first published book that isn’t a children’s novel, and this remained true. Both volumes of this story are available for both EPUB and physical purchase (or will be very soon), so please feel free to take a look. You can go direct to the books purchase page by clicking the title of the volume you want on the Series page.
Next on the roster are the first 3 volumes of Jinimaru Folklore, plus A Beginners Guide to Jinimaru, but they all need artwork and at the moment I am prioritising artwork for the website, so they will likely not be out until later this year.

Thank you again for being very, VERY, patient…and enjoy the books!

Site Issues

Quote

Our server is not capable of maintaining even a standard amount of graphics on the website, so it will be yo-yo-ing in and out of availability until I can find a suitable replacement. Please check our facebook page for information if the website is down, and I hope to get everything up and running (and even better) in the coming weeks.

Work and Progress

Quote

Greetings all, I have not updated my status for a while, huh? That’s because of a few things…

I have a Job!
I started work in August and boy, is it busy! I end up so exhausted that I barely have time or energy to make or draw anything, but that leads on to something else…

The site is getting an upgrade!
Whilst I may be super busy working, it hasn’t stopped me doing other work on the website or future content, it has just slowed it down. But now with the funds coming in I am now able to expand my server size to have a better looking site, with more items for sale in the store. This upgrade will come gradually, so don’t expect everything to come all at once.

The books are coming out of draft!
Two of my books drafts are 100% finished and are now in the proof-reading stage, however one is still missing much needed artwork (The Jinimaru Guide). As for the others, they are either 50% drafted or have only been briefed out.
I can confirm that Hunt Down is the other book out of Draft phase, and will be the first None-Guide related book to be released in the store. I am looking to get it out before New Year, but that is providing I don’t hit any further delays because of work or from missing artwork.

So that’s this major update out of the way, I hope to have something to show for you all in the next update! Thanks again for being patient.

Refreshing refresh of the site!

Quote

Well, kinda…the site got a clean-up and the store finally works, but I had to scrap the newsletter completely to make enough space for it. When I am given a bigger disk space I will gladly return it to our services.

…and our Second Life vendors got a refresh as well! Check it out!

If you want to help me get more disk space, allowing me to upload more products, then please feel free to either purchase what is already on sale or donate to me through paypal.

All funds raised go towards upgrading the disk space, keeping the site running and uploading more avatars to Second Life at affordable prices.
Thank you!
