It’s been over a year since the last update, and that’s down to a few things, many of which have been accumulating together.

First and foremost, 3D modelling hasn’t stopped; I have been very busy with it for the first half of the year, creating publicly available models. Items which are either free or for a small fee. These types of projects are not going away, but have taken a temporary backseat since July. The nature of the public models has, however, changed.

  1. Projects that were inspired by other people’s IP (intellectual property) have now ceased production; this was due to repeated copyright strikes on a free model. If a model that I uploaded, which was inspired by someone else’s work, gets removed from a website, it will not be reuploaded. In short, Fan-art projects will no longer be made public outside of my Patreon.
  2. Projects that utilise articulation are uploaded in a cycle. This means that ‘model 1’ will be provided for free, whilst ‘model 2’ will be premium, then ‘model 3’ will be free, and then ‘model 4’ will be premium. This does not apply to extremely complex articulated models; only simple ones.
  3. Requests for 3D models are no longer accepted; they must be commissioned via All Meshed Up.

The mid to latter half of the year, I have dedicated to working on my own projects for sale at trade shows and events. Prehistoric animal skulls, for display or cosplay, are my main focus. A few others include the continuing work on the Subject 218 models and things for The Jinimaru Project.
Check out this spinosaurid skull mask I posted on Bluesky!

In conjunction with the 3D modelling, I have been continuing with writing.

I pulled all my projects from Amazon Publishing, as I no longer wanted to endorse the website for moral reasons. This has, however, left me without a platform to publish my work, and the library I have is extensive now and continues to grow.

If you are a publisher and interested in any of my work, please get in touch via zuperbuuworks@gmail.com.

All books for the project are ‘complete’, but the first book for Specimen G-13 may be in need of a rewrite, as the nature of the Jinimaru’s status on Earth was changed in a recent revision of Subject 218, to one that I feel is more believable. I may leave it as it is, citing it as an ‘alternate universe’ where the Jinimaru are globally known, and are not some undiscovered species.

That aside, all book-related elements of the Jinimaru Project are now complete; they just need a publisher to give them a home.

This has been the chunk of what I have been focusing on for the entire year: the rewrite and complete overhaul of the Subject 218 story.

The book wasn’t just edited: it was completely rewritten from scratch, with only a few elements of the original left in place. I finished the first draft in March, and completed a whopping TWELVE alternate versions over the following six months (these are alternate universes, where one change in the story creates a new outcome.) I was able to write this much because I didn’t have to rewrite the entire story, just from a certain point (such as chapter 19 has three different changes that result in the remaining six chapters being completely different) which also includes versions where Tim, and sometimes his friends, end up transforming into Jinimaru (these ones took longer, as the timeline break can occur as early as chapter 6). Several of these books have sequels that I have also drafted, with one timeline having become a quadrilogy.

I don’t plan to publish all of them. I am sifting through the completed ones right now to find the version that screams ‘original timeline’ to me. As for what happens to the rest? I may still publish them, but it would have to be as a collection, I think. Honestly, I am not sure how I would go about sharing the alternate universes without the reader ending up being given the same first 5 chapters in every story (as no alternate universe changes occur until at least chapter 6).

I’m editing the top three candidates for the ‘original timeline’ choice right now, and they should be ready for a publisher early next year. I just have to figure out how to explain this all to one without them thinking I’m just indecisive… I just love thinking of the limitless possibilities of storytelling!

I have been experiencing health issues for years, as far back as 2012, but since 2019 it has become so exhausting that I just cannot manage working on 3D models as long as I used to. I am in the process of getting my health issues investigated and hopefully treated, but the NHS is slow, and transgender patients often fall victim to a lack of care or lack of knowledge on how our bodies need to be treated. So, whilst I am still working on a lot of things, I am easily exhausted and subject to a lot of pain (both mental and physical) that impacts my work.

I am also having to spend more time looking after my household and that, twinned with my poor health, has left me very tired. I don’t know if this element of my life will improve, so I may not be 100% back to the work quantity I was at previously without sacrificing quality, and I refuse to do that.

I thank you for your continuing support and patience. I hope next year to be healthier and back to working as I used to, even if it’s still a little less than it was before.
